These directions were written for Win98, but (for the most part) works exactly the same for other operating systems:
- Open up your Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel)
- Double-Click on 'ODBC Data Sources (32bit)'
- A new window called 'ODBC Data Source Administrator' will open
- Click on the 'System DSN' tab
- Click on the 'Add...' button
- A new window called 'Create New Data Source' will open
- Click on the 'Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)'
- Click on the 'Finish' button
- A new window called 'ODBC Microsoft Access Setup' will open
- Next to 'Data Source Name:' type in the name for your data source. Use 'CIS237' followed by your
initials.
- Click on the 'Select...' button under 'Database:'
- A new window called 'Select Database' will open
- Browse to the folder where you placed your database and select it.
- Click on the 'OK' button to close the 'Select Database' window
- The path and database name must now appear next to 'Database:'
- Click on the 'OK' button to close the 'ODBC Microsoft Access Setup' window
